Anna, an orphan, was raised by a foster family, she said, and worked as a maid but dreamed of one day becoming a doctor.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission said it has released on bail, Anambra state-born industrialist, Chief Innocent Chukwuma, better known as Innoson. The businessman who runs a local auto assembly plant was arrested on Tuesday, December 19, 2017, at his Enugu residence, following his refusal to respond to invitations by the Commission, after initially being granted administrative bail by the Commission, while his surety could also not be found.

He also called on Nigerians to strengthen their resolve to maintain the country’s peace and unity.  The minister urged all citizens, both at home and abroad, to support the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari in its determination to improve the living standard of the people.

A Nigerian Lady, identified as Mrs. Abaniwonda Modupe Kofowoola was found dead on board Emirates Airlines when it landed at Lagos Airport.  SR reports. This is coming just few hours after the United Arab Emiraes (UAE) carrier, Emirates airlines, launched its second daily flight to the Murtala Muhammed INternational Airport (MMIA), Lagos and returned to the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (NAIA), Abuja. According to reports from SR, Kofoworola was found dead onboard the airline when it landed at the Lagos Airport. She was with the passport number: A07562816 until her death on the aircraft. The flight EK783 (DXB) with the Expected Time of Arrival (ETA) at 15:55hrs, but, arrived at 15:50 hrs with the corpse of Mrs. Kofoworola.

There was a mild drama at the Aguata prisons in Anambra State when a defendant, Tobias Mbaekwe who was granted bail on health condition, declined to leave the prison environment despite family’s readiness to meets the bail conditions. Mbaekwe, who hailed from Ozubulu in Ekwusigo local government area of the state, was among the three juveniles who were incarcerated at medium security prisons, Aguata and ten others freed by the State Chief Judge, Justice Peter Umeadi on health ground and delay in prosecution. The defendant collapsed on the floor shortly after the ruling that he would be granted bail, begging the Chief Judge to allow him to stay back in the prison, where he said his life will be more secured. A 49-year-old man, Garba Tukura, was on Thursday, arrested by the Niger State Police Command, for allegedly murdering his neighbor, Musa Wassa. According to PunchNG, Tukura was said to have allegedly killed 65-year-old Wassa during a heated argument. According to the Public Relations Officer for the police command, Peter Sunday, Tukura, in the heat of an argument, flogged Wassa with an engine belt. Wassa, he said, slumped and was immediately rushed to a hospital, where he was discovered to be comatose and later died. The police spokesman said the suspect had confessed to the crime and had been charged to court.
